It doesn’t get simpler than this. Get some bone-in chicken (thighs or drumsticks work best) and a bottle of Soyaki (or Island Soyaki) from Trader Joe’s.

You can score the chicken with a knife if you really want the marinade to penetrate but it’s not necessary.

Put your chicken in a gallon size ziploc bag and marinate just enough soyaki to cover the chicken, probably around one-third to one-half of the bottle. Let it marinate overnight, flip the bag to marinate the other side of the chicken and marinate while you’re at work.

Put the chicken in your air fryer at 300-degrees for 15-20 minutes, turn occasionally. When you think the chicken nearly cooked crank the air fryer up to 400-degrees to get some nice browning action on the skin.
